Joseph Meader, son of Joseph Meader (1719-1796) [0015] and Widow Martha Appleby ( – ), was born in Durham, NH on November 14, 1753 and died in Sandwich, NH June 16, 1820, in his 67th year. He became a member of the Society of Friends in 1780, and his first wife and their children did so in 1784, about a month before her death. She never attended a business meeting of the Society. He was a farmer and a carpenter, and he spent most of his life in Rochester, NH. In 1807 he moved to Sandwich and spent the remainder of his days there.
