0114. Mehittie Meader (1796 – 1832)

Mehittie Meader, daughter of Joseph Meader (1753-1820) [0042] and Elizabeth Gould (1756-1814), his second wife, was born in Rochester, NH on February 14, 1796 and died in Sandwich, Carroll, NH on April 7, 1832. In November, 1814 she married Paul Jeuness, son of Moses and Abigail Jeuness of Rochester. The young couple moved to Sandwich. After Mehittie’s death Paul Jeuness and his family moved to Woodstown, Salem, NJ. He died October 22, 1855.

The children of Mehittie Meader and Paul Jeuness were:
i. Unnamed child, died in infancy.
ii. Mark Jeuness, born in Sandwich in 1816 and died April 1, 1862.
He married:

1)      Mary H. Wilson on July 1, 1847. She was born in 1816 and died May 4, 1857.

2)      Sarah A. Taylor on November 8, 1860.

iii. Abigail Jeuness, born in Sandwich about 1818. She married Sheppard Taylor of Woodstown on September 20, 1855. He was born in 1825 and died June 18, 1890. They lived in Woodstown and had four children.
iv. Lydia Jeuness, born in Sandwich about 1820 and died August 20, 1879.
She married:

1)      Asa Rynes.

2)      Joel S. Garwood.

v. Elizabeth Jeuness, born in Sandwich about 1824 and died June 11, 1879.
vi. Harriet Jeuness, born in 1827 in Sandwich.
vii. Pauline Jeuness, born in Sandwich in 1830 and died August 2, 1849.
