Glenn Stephens Meader, son of William C. Meader (1877-1952) [0409] and Mayme Myers (1877-1963), was born in Minneapolis, MN December 19, 1902 and died October 9, 1982 at Laguna Hills, CA and was buried at Forest Lawn, Omaha, NE. June 20, 1928 he married Elizabeth Korty Mc Donald, born October 22, 1903 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Augusta Louise Korty and John Ronald Mc Donald.
He was graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1926 with the B.S. (E.E.) degree. As a Reserve Officer he entered active military service in November, 1940 and served in the Signal Corps until January, 1946. In July, 1946 he entered the Regular Army, Signal Corps, serving until retirement in 1958 as a Colonel. As Commanding Officer he organized and trained the 93rd Signal Battalion (Corps), moving it to England and across the Channel and Utah Beach in France, assigned to XII Army Corps under General Patton's Third Army. He became Signal Officer, Third Army, under General Troy Middleton from March, 1945, until October, 1945. Upon entering the Regular Army he served at Fifth Army Headquarters, in the European Command, and during the Korean Conflict he became Commanding Officer, Signal Corps Stock Agency and later Deputy C.O. Signal Supply Agency, both in Philadelphia. He later served as Director, Armed Services Electro Standards Agency, Signal Officer U.S. Army Pacific, and commanding Officer, Western Regional Office, USA Signal Supply Agency. He received Combat Awards of the Bronze Star Medal and Oak Leaf Cluster, the Croix de Guerre with Palm and the Meritorious Service Unit Plaque Citation, 93rd Signal Battalion.
