The home farm in the Meaderboro section of Rochester, in the family since 1770, was owned by Leon's father Albert and his uncle Dana [0425]. After Dana's death his half ownership went to his seven children. Six each signed his share to Marion Edna Meader, the only one of the children then living on the farm. Albert lived in the other side of the duplex house. When Marion Meader was terminally ill, she sold her share to her uncle Albert. On his death, the property went to his five children. In December, 1975 the other four children sold their shares to Leon. During the Bicentennial this was designated the Meader Heritage Farm, having been in the same family for more than two hundred years.
