0133. Daniel Meader (1782 - 1872)
Daniel Meader, son of Samuel Meader (1745-1800) [0049] and Ruth Hill (d.1814), was born October 21, 1782 at Barrington, NH. [Volume I shows Ryegate, VT.] He died at Newbury, Vermont on March 19, 1872, in his 90th year.
He was a farmer and country lawyer. In his time the country was new and, being a very fluent speaker, he did much as a lawyer in the County Justice courts, but he was not a regular attorney. Judge Underwood of Wells River remarked that had Daniel Meader been educated as s lawyer he would have been an honor to his profession.
He married:
1) Nancy Ann Avery on April 25, 1802. She was born March 17, 1788 and died February 23, 1861. [If the dates are correct, she was 14 and he 19 at marriage.]

1585 v. Eusebia Meader, born June 3, 1811 and died January 22, 1826 of scarlet fever.

1588 xiii. Mary Eliza Meader, born November 29, 1826 and died December 9, 1842 of typhoid fever.
1838 xiv. Charles Carroll Meader, born October 31, 1830.
