0051. Mark Meader (c.1750 - 1796)
Mark Meader, son of Daniel Meader (1718-p.1758) [0020] and Mary Harvey (  -  ), was born, probably in Dover, NH, about 1750 and died in Madbury, Stratford, NH in August, 1796. He married Hannah Bodge, later called "Dodge," related to the manufactures of the coarse earthen "Dodge Ware." The family moved from Lee to Madbury in 1785. Mark's widow moved to Durham in December, 1797. In January, 1805 she carried her daughter's two children to the home of Valentine Smith, whose wife was daughter of Hannah Meader [0043]. Mr. Smith was at that time a Selectman and Overseer of the Poor. More, he was an educated and responsible citizen, later to become Chief Justice of the Common Pleas Court.
[Note: Most sources mention six children and list three, but Durham historical records mention eleven.]
The children of Mark Meader and Hannah Bodge are:
1412 i. Hannah Meader, born about 1780.
0142 ii. Edward Sargent Meader, born May 7, 1791.
1413 iii. Aaron Meader, twin to Edward, born May 7, 1791.
