John Hoyt Meader, son of Stephen W. Meader (1892-1977) [1060] and Elizabeth Hoyt (1894-1962), was born October 8, 1921 in Germantown, PA. He attended Moorestown Friends School and was a member of the Moorestown Quaker Meeting. He was graduated from Haverford College in 1943 with the B.S. degree in history. He entered the Army Air Corps in April, 1943 and served as a B-24 pilot until November, 1945. He was a salesman, product manager and advertising manager for ten years at Webb Manufacturing Co.; from 1955-1969 was account executive at Gray & Rogers Advertising Agency, later he was senior vice president and director of account services at Aitkin-Kynett in Philadelphia.
October 25, 1947 in Plainfield, NJ he married Joan Shoemaker, born January 8, 1923 in Elizabeth, NJ the daughter of Emanuel Hey Shoemaker and Pauline Hulbert Peacock. They lived in Moorestown.
