2140. Jane Annesley Meader (1919 - 1971)
Jane Annesley Meader, daughter of Stephen W. Meader (1892-1977) [1060] and Elizabeth Hoyt (1894-1962), was born in Germantown, PA March 23, 1919 and died in Takoma Park, MD May 6, 1971. She attended Moorestown Friends School for her elementary and secondary schooling. Following graduation from there, she attended Earlham College in Richmond, IN where, in 1941, she received the AB degree in English and Philosophy with Honorable Mention.
She married Jack McClelland, USNR, at the Trinity Church in Moorestown on January 26, 1946. He was born January 3, 1913 in Charleston, 1L, son of James Henry McClelland and Hazel Osborn. The couple lived first in Takoma Park and then Silver Spring, MD.
The children of Jane Meader and Jack McClelland were:
i. Julia Anne McClelland, born October 19, 1949. August 29, 1975 she married William S. Lewis, They lived in Haymarket, VA.
ii. James Hoyt McClelland, born February 24, 1953.
