1966. Margaret Emily Meader (1899 - 1938)
Margaret Emily Meader, daughter of Wilbur F. Meader (1874-1947) [0363] and Mary Driscoll (1873-1908), was born in Conway Center, NH May 15, 1899 and died in Madison, NH August 1, 1938.
After her mother's death she was boarded around until she found a home with a family in Manchester, NH where she was able to finish high school and go on to business college. She soon moved to Lynn, MA to be near her sister Helen [1965]. She became a newspaper reporter for a Lynn paper and in later years worked for a Lawrence, MA newspaper. She was buried beside her sister Helen in the Meader family lot in Center Conway.
She married:
1) Cecil Miller in 1920, a naval man from Seaside, OR. They lived in Oregon for a while and then returned to Lynn, where a few years later they were divorced. There were no children.
2) James A. Broadbent in the early 1930s, a native of Attleboro, MA, living in Lynn where he worked for General Electric Company. This was a stormy marriage, and after she had had surgery for breast cancer a divorce was obtained. There were no children.
