Carl Merton Meader, son of Martin S. Meader (1849-1913) [0427] and Ellen Carr (b.1849), was born at North Haverhill, NH January 28, 1880. After town schools he attended the Moody (Mount Hermon) School and was graduated in 1901 from New Hampton Business College, NH. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Pink Granite Grange and Methodist Episcopal Church. According to the 1915 source, "He carries on the home farm which is well supplied with up-to-date machinery, some of which is run by electricity."
December 8, 1904 he married Mina Josephine Whicher, born in Winona, NH December 8, 1880 the daughter of Daniel Whicher and Josephine Brown. She was graduated in 1899 from New Hampton Literary and Scientific Institution. Later she entered State Normal School at Plymouth, followed by a season of successful teaching. There were no children of this marriage.
