0310. Celia Luce Meader (1824 - 1883)
Celia Luce Meader, daughter of Francis Meader (1804-1846) [0180] and Nancy Williard (1809-1876), was born February 3, 1824, probably in Farmington, ME, and died September 15, 1883. She was a school teacher. April 4, 1852 she married John Tilton. They lived in Great Falls, NH. At the age of 17 John Tilton engaged in the manufacture of cotton goods. At 26 he engaged in mercantile pursuits.
The children of Celia Meader and John Tilton were:
i. Frank Herbert Tilton, born July 2, 1856. He married Fannie Prescott Small and was a practicing physician.
ii. Osman Baker Tilton, born in October, 1858. He married Alice J. Shattuck of Pepperell, MA and was a superintendent with the Nashua Manufacturing Company.
iii. John Littlefield Tilton, born January 11, 1863. He was a graduate of Middleton University [ed: possibly Wesleyan?].
