Hazel Ina Meader was born 14 May 1906 in Warren, Litchfield, Connecticut, USA. She was the eldest of three children. She married Seth Thompson Merwin Sr. on 5 February 1926 in Hyde Park, Dutchess, New York, USA. They lived in Millerton, New York and raised six (6) children: Ina Louise born 1927, Alan Dewey born 1929, Evelyn Anne (Pinky) born 1931, Seth Thompson Jr. born 1932, Marilyn Joyce (Susie) born in 1933, and John Meader Merwin in 1952. Seth Thompson Merwin Sr., was born 11 August 1905 in North East, Dutchess, New York and died on 21 June 1988 in Millerton, New York. Hazel Meader Merwin died 15 May 1999 in Sharon, Litchfield, Connecticut and is buried in Irondale Cemetery, Millerton, New York along side her husband, Seth.
