1036. Samuel Curtis Meader (1844 - 1918)
Samuel Curtis Meader, son of Samuel Meader (bc.1810) [0231] and Abigail Lovering ( - ), was born in Tamworth, NH in 1844 and died in Holliston, MA in 1918. He married Mary Elizabeth Ryder in Boston. They are buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Holliston.
He enlisted in the Army June 14, 1862 and was in Company K, 9th NH Infantry Regiment. He was wounded in the thigh at the Battle of Antietam September 17, 1862 and was mustered out June 10, 1865 near Alexandria, VA. President Lincoln visited the hospital where Samuel Meader was, and shook his hand.
