Willard Lingel Meader, son of Robert P. Meader (1901-1978) [0569] and Louise Lingel (b.1908), was born in Fairview Hospital, LaPorte, IN, November 23, 1933. He received his A.B. degree from Albion College in 1954, his M.D. in 1958 from Temple University and his M.P.H. in 1964 from the University of California. He was a colonel in the Air Force, a flight surgeon, awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and Bronze Star.
January 21, 1961 at McGuire Air Force Base he married Sharon Sue Inman, born March 12, 1941 the daughter of Elbert Ellis Inman and Hazel Catherine Hines. They lived in Springfield, VA.

Bill retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1989 as a brigadier general. Additional decorations he was awarded include the Legion of Merit and the Distinguished Service Medal. His retirement was held in the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. During his AF career, he was assigned to Goose Air Base, Labrador; Bergstrom AFB, Texas; Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona; Brooks AFB, Texas; Offut AFB, Nebraska; Tan Son Nhut AB, Vietnam; RAF Wethersfield, England; Barksdale AFB, Louisiana;RAF Bentwaters, England; Fort Leslie J. McNair, D.C.; Andrews AFB, Maryland; Nellis AFB, Nevada; Hickam AFB, Hawaii; and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Following his AF retirement, he served as president of the Hanford Environmental Health Foundation in Richland, Washington and additionally as regional vice president of Group Health Northwest. He was a fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association, the American College of Preventive Medicine, the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and the American College of Physician Executives.
Sharon was born in Palo Alto, California. She was active in Officer's Wives Club wherever they were stationed, serving as president at Wethersfield, Bentwaters and Hickam. She was also president of the Wives Wing of the Aerospace Medical Association
