0228. William Ebenezer Meader (1810 - 1847)
William Ebenezer Meader, son of Samuel Meader (1778-1847) [0116] and Eleanor Rogers (1784-1819), was born August 1, 1810, probably in Wolfeboro, NH, and died in 1847. In 1838 in Mobile, Alabama he married Caroline B. Swett of Boston. He moved South before the Civil War. He was killed by a bale of merchandise falling on him as it was being hauled into a building. He left a widow and two daughters who had not been heard from for many years up to 1890, although several attempts had been made to reach them.
