John J. Meader, son of Enos Meader (1790-1864) [0111] and Sally Jewell (1795-1839), was born September 12, 1816, probably in Rochester, NH, and died May 7, 1885, possibly in Dannemora, NY. In December, 1835 he married Amanda Augusta Macomber, daughter of Apollos Macomber. For several years John Meader was warden of the prison at Dannemora.
