Mary Varney Meader, daughter of Valentine Meader (1777-1837) [0106] and Joanna Battey (1791-1816), was born August 25, 1828, probably in Ferrisburg, VT, and died February 4, 1879. She married John N. Miller, born in 1818 and died August 17, 1882, son of Jonathan Miller and Abigail Folsom of Tamworth, NH. Mary Meader was his second wife. His first was Mary Vail of Coal Creek, IA, and his third was Mary Johnson of Unity, NH.
In 1865 Mary Meader and her husband paid a religious visit to the New England Yearly Meeting and had service within its limits. After her death several of her poems were collected by her sister Lydia [0213] and published together with a short memoir of her life.
