0175. Elizabeth Meader (c.1816  –     )

Elizabeth Meader, daughter of Nathaniel Meader (b.1790) [0074] and Peace Morrell (1794-1888), was born in Rochester, NH about 1816. She married Caleb M. Paine, son of Caleb Paine and Dorcas Mowry, who was born December 28, 1812 and died January 12, 1867. He was a farmer and dry goods merchant. They lived in Pawtucket and Cumberland, RI.

An article in the Pawtucket Gazette, January 18, 1867 stated:

“Few men have been removed from us, whose loss has been more deeply felt than that of our departed Caleb M. Paine, a loss which will be felt in business circles, in the religious Society of which he was a member and in the neighborhood where he resided. His singularly agreeable disposition was the prompting of a heart that would have the world pleasant and cheerful and which did what it could to make it so.”
