0074. Nathaniel Meader (1790  –     )

Nathaniel Meader, son of Elijah Meader (1744-1825) [0025] and Elizabeth Hoag (1749-1811), was born April 23, 1790, probably in Rochester, NH. On October 12, 1815, in Berwick, Maine, he married Peace Morrell (1794-1888), daughter of Winthrop and Susanna Morrell of Berwick. He was at that time "of Farmington," as were his parents. The Nathaniel Meaders settled in Watervllle, Kennebec, Maine in about 1843. The Portland Transcript in 1888 carried the following item:

“Mrs. Peace Meader, aged 94 years, one of the oldest ladies in Waterville, Maine, died Thursday, March 29. She was born in North Berwick in 1794 and has been a resident of Waterville for about 45 years. She was the last but one of 13 children, the other now living in Epping, NH at the age of 96.”
The children of Nathaniel Meader and Peace Morrell were:

1459 iii. Winthrop Morrell Meader, who died unmarried.
