James Meader, son of Robert Meader (1743-1815) [0036] and Deborah Coker (1746-1826), was born on Nantucket August 8, 1779 and died in North Easton, NY in 1829. He moved with his father’s family to North Easton in 1793 and lived on his father's farm on the Cheese Factory Road.
After her husband's death Lucy Meader went to the Plattsburgh area about 1830, where her cousin Polly, wife of James’s brother Robert [0097], lived. A Quaker community had been established in this section, and other relatives had already moved there. Lucy took all the Meader children there with her. She later married Andrew Farrell, who kept Farrell’s Tavern on the old Military Turnpike west of Chazy and not far from West Chazy.
