0017. Samuel Meader (1711 – a.1773)

Samuel Meader, son of Nicholas Meader (c.1683-1767) [0007] and his wife Lydia (  –  ), was born January 15, 1711 in Durham, NH, where he lived and died. He was said to have had the best farm in town. When he married out of the Meeting he lost his standing among the Friends.

His will is dated May 18, 1773 and May 11, 1774, and he may have died in the latter year.

According to one source he married twice, Elizabeth and Mary. It is not known which bore his children:

1324 i. Timothy Meader, born in Durham May 12, 1741 and died January 1, 1819.
0043 ii. Hannah Meader, born in Durham in 1743 [History of Durham records June 22, 1746] and died there on August 12, 1822.
0044 iii. Elizabeth Meader, born in Durham March 4, 1744 and died March 21, 1817.
0045 iv. Ebenezer Meader, born in Durham October 22, 1746 [History of Durham records 1748] and died July 28, 1826
0046 v. Isaac Meader, born in Durham May 18, 1750 and died January 31, 1836 [History of Durham records June 21, 1837].
