Kenneth Stephen Meader (1937- ) Kenneth Stephen Meader, son of Kenneth Laurence Meader (1906-1984) [600] and Hazel E. Head, was born July 19, 1937 in Whitinsville, Massachusetts. He graduated from Northbridge High School and Worcester Junior College with an Associate's Degree in Engineering. He then enlisted in the U.S.Army and served from 1958-1962. Two years of that service was in Verdun, France with the 97th Engineer Battalion. After discharge from the Army, we settled in the Norristown, PA area where I enrolled in the evening college of Drexel University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering in 1969. While attending evening college I was employed by Irwin and Leighton, Inc., a large Philadelphia area building contractor working on many area projects at colleges, hospitals, and manufacturing plants as a Project Superintendent. In 1984 I joined Mellon Stuart Construction, a large construction management firm in Pittsburgh, PA as a Project Manager and constructed several mid-rise buildings in Wilmington, DE for Chase Manhatten Bank. In 1989 Mellon Stuart relocated me to Madison, CT to construct three projects at Miles Pharmaceutical in West Haven, CT. I later joined two other construction management firms to manage projects at Phizer Research Center in Groton, CT and Mashantucket Pequot Museum on the Foxwoods Casino property. I retired full-time in 2000, however, worked part-time as an owner's Project Manager supervising several school districts with school expansions and renovation projects. In 2020 we sold our Madison, CT home and relocated to Shannondell at Valley Forge, a large senior independent living facility located in Audubon, PA. He married: Helena Broda, December 20, 1960 in Verdun, France. She was born in Springfield, VT on August 25, 1939. She graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in Holden, MA. After completing a Medical Technology program at Worcester Junior College, she interned at Worcester City Hospital as a Registered Medical Technologist. After her internship was completed, she flew to France to marry Steve. Upon returning to the States, she continued her education with a Master's Degree from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary plus a four-year post graduate study at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis resulting in a full-time career as a psychotherapist for over 30 years.
