We have group rate $75 + taxes. (They will also honor AAA discount
when requested). Please let all YOUR family relatives know. We’re
doing our best to contact everyone.
Rooms are double occupancy (Double Queen or King). Extra people in room. $10 per person. They will only hold our block through the last week of July.
Our reunion schedule for Friday and Saturday, August 26 and 27, 2016 will look like this:
Informal gathering at the Days Inn Oil City Conference Center, 7 to 9 PM Friday evening August 26th.
SATURDAY August 27: After a free continental breakfast at the Days Inn Oil City Conference Center our day will begin.
9:00 AM we will open our reunion meeting. We will have introductions and election of officers and directors.
11:00 AM Bus will pick us up at the hotel for a 15 minute ride to Drake’s Well Park and Oil Heritage Museum. We will spend about an hour touring the museum and grounds, where there are many drilling, pumping and transportation exhibits including a working replica of the world’s first oil well and derrick.
12:15 PM Bus will pick us up at Drake’s Well for a 5 minute ride over to the 1892-vintage Perry Street Station of the Oil Creek & Titusville Railroad.
1:00 PM Our own private coach will depart for a three hour train ride through the ‘Valley that Changed the World’. The trip will take us to where oil history began, and we’ll learn about the people and places that made up Pennsylvania Oil Country.
1:30 PM sack lunch on the train.
4:15 PM Bus will drop us back at the hotel in time to freshen up for dinner.
5:30 PM We will conclude with our Famous Meader Limerick contest and award Peter Meder to the lucky winner to cherish until reunion 2016.
6:00 PM Optional buffet dinner for those who wish to participate. Cost will be approximately $18.50 per person including tax and gratuity. Payment for the buffet is not due until the day of the event, but the hotel needs an accurate count by the beginning of that week. Please indicate what choices you would like for the entrée's, We have a choice of any two items including: baked ham, braised steak, sliced roast beef with sautéed mushrooms and onions, stuffed chicken breast, roasted turkey with stuffing, lasagna, baked ziti, stuffed shells, stuffed roast beef, chicken cordon bleu, baked chicken pieces, chicken Marsala, zesty marinated chicken (not hot and spicy), Italian sausage and meatballs with bow pasta, or seasoned pork loin. We’ll go with your top two choices.
Times may be adjusted slightly as necessary.
Pre- or Post-Reunion – for those who wish to do some exploring of the Oil Creek Valley, we are planning to provide a map showing where some of our Meader ancestors lived and the location of some of the barns that they built.Jennifer Faith Meader, Secretary
