1027. Nathan Meader (1838 – p.1880)

Nathan Meader, son of Elijah Meader (1802-1853) [1009] and Abigail Colby (b.1818), was born in 1838, apparently in Lincoln, VT, where he was living at the time of the 1870 Census. In 1860 he lived in Warren, VT.

He married:
1)     Hannah P. McLean May 29, 1859 in Lincoln. Since the first child listed was not born until nine years after this marriage, it is possible that the couple were childless.
2)     A Jennie or Jeanie, born in 1844. They may have been married about 1867. Children are probably all by Jeanie, listed as Nathan's wife in the 1870 Census:
2472 i. Carlton Meader, born about 1868, listed on the 1870 and 1880 Censuses.
2473 ii. Alice Meader, born November 24, 1869, not listed on either Census.
2474 iii. Abby Meader, born in 1870, listed on both Censuses. She married a Wells.
2475 iv. Pliny Meader, born about 1872 and listed on the 1880 Census.
2476 v. Carl Meader. He married and died young.
1068 vi. Roy Elijah Meader, born July 6, 1886, a twin, and died October 9, 1971.
1168 vii. Ray Louis Meader, born July 6, 1886, a twin, and died in 1972.
