John M. Meader, son of Aaron Meader (d.1842) [0127] and Sarah Berry (d.1838), was born June 22, 1833, possibly in the Durham, NH area. He married Lucy Ann Farrar of Manchester, MA, where they settled. In 1871 he was Postmaster at Manchester and also Superintendent of the Alms House. His father died when he was but nine years old, and he was left in the care of Aaron Dodge of Beverly, MA. His mother died when he was too young to recollect her.
