William Henry Meader, son of William Meader (1785-1880) [0080] and Mary Bradbury (b.1805), was born July 4, 1826, probably in Industry, ME, and died October 12, 1897. He was buried in the Peru, IA cemetery. He married Louise Jane Steele September 12, 1849 in Rock Island County, IL. She was born September 10, 1831, probably in Montgomery County, IN, the daughter of Theophilus Steele and Elizabeth A. Freeland. She died February 2, 1903. In 1868 the couple was living in Port Byron, Rock Island, IL, near Hampton, where his father lived.
