John Meader, son of Lemuel Meader (1771-1839) [0056] and Mary Kimball (1779-1845), was born in Rochester, NH February 1, 1807 and died in Muscatine, Muscatine, IA March 17, 1857 [another source says 1868]. In November, 1833 he married Mary Thompson, daughter of Olney Thompson and Hyrena Paine, born April 1, 1808 in Slatersvilie, RI and died in 1889. The couple lived in Rochester for twenty years. In 1854 they moved to Muscatine. After John Meader’s death Mary Thompson Meader moved to Minneapolis to live with her son William. She died at Worcester, Otsego, NY while visiting friends there. She was an approved minister in the Society of Friends.
