Jesse E. Meader, son of Lemuel Meader (1771-1839) [0056] and Mary Kimball (1779-1845), was born December 12, 1802 in Rochester, NH and died in Dover, NH July 11, 1881. On October 8, 1832 he married Hannah D. York. of Rochester, who was born November 2, 1811. He was a Free Will Baptist minister, ordained at Barnstead, Belknap, NH in 1830. In 1854 and 1855 he was a Selectman. He retired to Dover. He was generally called "Elder Meader," as was the custom in the early days of the Free Will Baptists.
Five of the six children of Jesse Meader and Hannah York died within the period of 1861-1871, ten years before their father's death.
