Edward Meader, son of Daniel Harvey Meader (1749-1819) [0050] and Jerusha Wormwood (1751-1843), was born in Kennebunk, ME August 25, 1785, twin to Benjamin [0140]. He moved to Litchfield, Kennebec, ME with his parents in 1794 and then to Edgecomb, Lincoln, Me about 1812.

On March 18, 1819 he married Sarah Brooks, daughter of Thomas and Deborah Brooks and a descendant of John Donnell, the first male child born in York, ME. She was born April 14, 1798 and died November 26, 1870. They were married on Westport Island, Lincoln, ME, and he spent the rest of his life on the lower part of that island. He died there July 11, 1860.

He served in the War of 1812. He was an invalid in his later years, and he received a pension during his last few years.
