0136. Sally Meader (1776 – 1860)

Sally Meader, daughter of Daniel Harvey Meader (1749-1819) [0050] and Jerusha Wormwood (1751-1843), was born in Kennebunk, ME on April 22, 1776 and died September 25, 1860, in her 85th year. She married Moses Giles, born in New Hampshire November 27, 1769. He spent his last days with his son Moses, while she spent hers with her daughter Betsey.

The children of Sally Meader and Moses Giles were:
i. Betsey Giles. She married Hosea H. Gilman, and they settled in Parkman, Piscataquis, Maine.
ii. Hannah Giles.
She married:

1)     John J. Robinson.
2)     Joel Furnald.

iii. Mark Giles.
He married:

1)     Lucy Tyler. They had five children.
2)     Elizabeth Thompson.
iv. Sylvanus W. Giles. He married Sophia Campbell of Belgrade, Kennebec, ME, When he died she married his younger brother Moses [viii].
v. Jerusha Giles. On May 14, 1833 she married Joseph Springer. They were living in Augusta, ME in 1850. They had six children.
vi. Lydia Giles. She died young.
vii. Daniel Giles. He died young.
viii. Moses Giles. He married Sophia (Campbell) Giles, his older brother Sylvanus’ [iv.] widow
