Abraham Meader, son of Daniel Harvey Meader (1749-1819) [0050] and Jerusha Wormwood (1751-1843), was born in Kennebunk, ME March 25, 1773 and died, probably in Ellsworth, ME, August 3, 1856, in his 84th year. Probably in 1793 he married Sally Allen, born in 1778. The 1850 Census of Hancock County gives his age as 70 and hers as 77. They settled in Ellsworth. Some of their children intermarried with Nova Scotians and settled in Ellsworth and adjacent towns. In the first part of the nineteenth century, Ellsworth was the second largest lumber shipping port in the world.
