Susan Meader, daughter of William Meader (1750-1829) [0031] and Widow Phebe Tripp (1763-1848), was born in New Bedford, MA August 18, 1808 and died August 16, 1843. On June 16, 1827 she married Edward Colesworthy Barnard, son of James and Hepsabeth (Colesworthy) (Bunker) Barnard. He was lost off Point Albino on Lake Erie in a heavy gale, while sailing on the schooner Pennsylvania.
Susan Meader and both her daughters were schoolteachers. The family apparently lived in Buffalo, NY, and it is assumed that Susan Meader died there.
